Following on from V\u00e9ronique’s mission at the end of 2024, the John Cockerill Foundation is pleased to announce the implementation of three new projects in Brazil, in partnership with committed local players.<\/p>\n
All these projects are being monitored by our colleagues at John Cockerill Brasil, under the coordination of Cristina Pach\u00e9co Rocha & Marcos Landim.<\/p>\n
Housing restoration with Habitat Brasil<\/strong><\/p>\n We have entered into a partnership with Habitat Brasil to support the renovation of eight homes in the community of Boqueir\u00e3o, on the outskirts of S\u00e3o Paulo. This initiative, which is in line with MDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, aims to improve living conditions for local families by guaranteeing safer, healthier housing.<\/p>\n Accessibility for young people at the Lar Abdon Batista home<\/strong><\/p>\n We have also established a partnership with Lar Abdon Batista, a home for vulnerable children and teenagers. Our support will focus on the installation of an elevator system, which will give young people full access to the different areas of the home. This project, in line with MDG 10 – Reducing Inequalities, promotes the inclusion and autonomy of residents, offering them an environment better adapted to their needs.<\/p>\n Creating indigenous reading spaces with Omunga<\/strong><\/p>\n Finally, we are supporting the \u201cCreation of Indigenous Reading Spaces\u201d project run by Omunga, an organization committed to promoting education. This project will take place in Uiramut\u00e3, a region where access to culture and education remains limited. By creating spaces dedicated to reading and learning, we are helping to preserve the knowledge and traditions of indigenous communities, while offering them new opportunities for self-fulfilment.
