Discover the beneficiaries of the Foundation Challenge 2024!

21 May 2024

The Foundation is delighted to announce the results of the Foundation Challenge 2024! The results of this month-long challenge, which was addressed to the 6,000 employees of the John Cockerill Group, enabled six beneficiary associations to be selected.

These associations, submitted by John Cockerill Group employees, will soon receive a donation from the Foundation to support their projects in line with the United Nations’ sustainable development goals: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Mental Health and Wellbeing, and Reducing Inequalities.

Find out more about these organisations and their impact on the community:

Opération Papa Noël ASBL is a Belgian association dedicated to giving Christmas presents to underprivileged children. Every year, it mobilises volunteers to collect and distribute gifts, bringing joy and hope to thousands of children. Their work helps to combat social exclusion and promote children’s well-being.

Casa Esperança Irma Zefa is a Brazilian organisation that provides essential support to families in precarious situations. Their mission includes educational programmes, healthcare and food services to improve the quality of life of vulnerable communities. They play a crucial role in the fight against poverty and hunger in Brazil.

France Parrainages – Antenne Meuse/Ardennes works to strengthen social and family ties for children in difficulty. By setting up sponsorships between children and adult volunteers, the association helps young people to develop their self-confidence and become better integrated into society. Their work makes a significant contribution to reducing inequalities and improving the mental well-being of children.

The Banque Alimentaire de Nouvelle-Calédonie fights food insecurity by collecting and redistributing foodstuffs to people in need. Thanks to a network of partners and volunteers, the association helps to feed thousands of families every year, while raising public awareness of the problem of hunger.

Emma’s Footprint is a US-based organisation that offers support to families who have lost a child. It provides counselling, support groups and financial resources to help families through this difficult time. Their commitment to the mental health and well-being of families is central to their mission.

Shriners Children’s Erie is a medical institution that provides specialized care for children with orthopaedic disorders, burns, spinal cord injuries and other complex conditions. Thanks to their cutting-edge medical services, they improve the quality of life of many children, regardless of their families’ financial ability.

We would like to thank all the employees of the John Cockerill Group for their motivation and ongoing support. It is through this commitment that we are able to contribute to these important causes and have a positive impact on the community.
