Laura Précourt, new John Cockerill Foundation ambassador in France

22 October 2026

Laura Précourt, Internal Communications Officer at John Cockerill Defense in France, has recently joined the John Cockerill Foundation’s community of ambassadors. Her commitment builds on a strong culture of solidarity already deeply rooted within the teams and opens up new opportunities to bring these values to life across the Group.

Solidarity, a long-standing part of our culture

For Laura Précourt, social responsibility is nothing new. Since joining the company in February 2022, when it was still known as Arquus, she has always placed great importance on community initiatives and employee involvement.

“I’ve always been particularly passionate about corporate social responsibility and solidarity. I love the idea that our work can go beyond our day-to-day responsibilities and make a tangible difference in the communities around us.”

This belief reflects a long-standing culture of solidarity within the former Arquus teams.

Beyond their industrial mission, employees actively support wounded military personnel and families who have lost loved ones. Their commitment takes many forms, from financial contributions to nonprofit organizations to sailing outings with La Voile Pour se reconstruire, as well as charity races benefiting Bleuet de France.

This year, nearly 80 runners took part in a charity race proudly representing John Cockerill.

“For me, what makes these initiatives so powerful is precisely the combination of the support we provide to nonprofit organizations and the direct involvement of our employees.”

Shared values, new opportunities

When Laura learned about the John Cockerill Foundation’s mission, she immediately recognized values that were already close to her heart: solidarity, teamwork, and community engagement.

“I wouldn’t say we discovered something entirely new. To me, it felt more like a natural continuation of what we were already doing.”

For Laura, the Foundation offers an opportunity to extend this momentum to new causes, different regions, and projects that go beyond the traditional scope of the Defense teams’ community involvement.

Education, access to clean water, social inclusion, and support for local communities are just some of the areas where employees can now contribute their skills, ideas, and energy to meaningful projects.

“We can continue to build on what defines us, our DNA, while opening up new possibilities through the strength of the Group.”

Building connections and inspiring new initiatives

In her new role as an ambassador, Laura hopes to serve as a bridge between the Foundation and John Cockerill Defense employees in France.

Her goal? To raise awareness of the Foundation’s initiatives, identify projects already supported by her colleagues, and help employees turn their desire to make a difference into action.

“If someone is already involved with a nonprofit, is working on a community project, or simply has an idea, I’d love for them to think, ‘I can reach out to Laura and see how the Foundation might be able to help.’”

After all, community engagement often extends well beyond the workplace. Many employees already volunteer their time, participate in local initiatives, or support causes that matter to them.

The Foundation can help bring greater visibility to these efforts, foster connections, and give them a broader collective impact.

Going further, together

For Laura, becoming an ambassador is also about showing that everyone can make a difference in their own way.

“Ultimately, each of us is just one signature away from making a commitment.”

Making a difference doesn’t necessarily mean leading a major project. Sometimes, it simply starts with an idea, a conversation, or a willingness to share one’s skills.

And to sum up this ambition, Laura turns to a motto that holds special meaning for the Foundation:

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Through her commitment, Laura is helping strengthen connections among employees and build a growing culture of solidarity that reaches across roles, teams, and regions.

Welcome, Laura, to the John Cockerill Foundation’s community of ambassadors!
