Success for the 1st Foundation Day!

07 June 2023

The John Cockerill Foundation, whose mission is to contribute to a better world, celebrated the resounding success of its first “Foundation Day” last April. The challenge launched at the end of this 1st edition brought together more than 1,000 Group employees worldwide, all driven by the same objective: to make their contribution to society and communities.

Foundation Day was a further opportunity for John Cockerill Group employees to become actively involved in philanthropic actions. By taking part in the challenge of collectively achieving 3,000,000 steps in teams of 10 people in 1 month, employees proved their determination to go beyond expectations and achieve remarkable achievements together.
The results surpassed all expectations, reflecting team spirit and the desire to contribute to a better world. The 10 associations selected by the teams each received a cheque for 5,000 euros, enabling them to carry out their actions and strengthen their positive impact on communities.

The 10 associations selected are: Accueillez-nous ASBL, Dora Dorës ASBL and PICSAP Association in Belgium, OMUNGA in Brazil, ViAllaite in Cameroon, L’équipée and AF3M Association Française des Malades du Myélome Multiple in France, Les Kimonos du Cœur in New Caledonia, Kids and Cars and Bethany Outreach Center in the United States.
The John Cockerill Foundation would like to express its gratitude to all the employees who took part in this memorable event. Their commitment, passion and dedication were the driving forces behind this exceptional success. Thanks to them, real change can now take place.

Looking to the future, the John Cockerill Foundation is already looking forward to the second Foundation Day. On the strength of this successful experience, the Foundation is determined to perpetuate this annual challenge and mobilize even more employees around humanitarian causes.

The John Cockerill Foundation believes in the importance of social and environmental commitment and will continue to work towards a better world. Through Foundation Day and other initiatives, the Foundation aims to make a significant difference in the communities where it operates.

In conclusion, the success of the John Cockerill Foundation’s first Foundation Day testifies to the power of solidarity and collective commitment. By contributing to causes close to their hearts, employees demonstrated that they can make a real and positive impact on the world around them. The John Cockerill Foundation is committed to continuing along this path, and to building tomorrow’s better world today.
