Created to spark scientific curiosity and encourage students to pursue STEM pathways (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the CGénial Foundation develops innovative educational initiatives for pupils from primary through to secondary education. Its mission is to challenge stereotypes, promote equal opportunities and equip young people with the tools to understand today’s and tomorrow’s technological and industrial challenges.
Through this partnership, employees of the John Cockerill Group take part in classroom sessions, either remotely or in person, sharing their professional experience, career paths and day-to-day work as engineers, technicians or industrial experts. These exchanges enable students to put a human face to industrial careers and to better understand the links between classroom learning and real-world practice.
The sessions take the form of interactive discussions, personal testimonials and Q&A segments, fostering curiosity, critical thinking and openness to scientific and technical careers. Whether held in person or remotely, these meetings create direct and inspiring dialogue between students and professionals, while highlighting the employees’ societal commitment.
The partnership between the John Cockerill Foundation and the CGénial Foundation reflects a shared ambition to strengthen bridges between education and industry, promote diverse career pathways, and encourage young people—girls and boys alike—to envision themselves in meaningful, future-oriented professions.
