An inclusive show for children, Art&Faq promotes diversity and empathy.

As part of its collaboration with the non-profit organisation Prométhéa, which aims to bring culture, heritage and the private sector closer together, the John Cockerill Foundation took part in a cultural speed-dating session to support innovative projects. On this occasion, it highlighted the project of the non-profit organisation Art&Faq, which offers an inclusive puppet show focused on diversity and disability in primary schools in Wallonia.

Founded in 2019 by two theatre and improvisation enthusiasts, the non-profit organisation Art&Faq promotes the performing arts in all their forms: theatre, literature, music, slam poetry and improvisation. Its mission is to design educational shows tailored to schools, businesses and the general public, promoting openness to others, civic awareness and social inclusion. The show, directed by the Compagnie de l'Esperluette and produced in collaboration with a specialised educator, is aimed at children from the second year of nursery school to the second year of primary school. Easy to set up in small classrooms, this interactive children's show features characters with differences or disabilities. Through a playful and caring approach, pupils are encouraged to develop empathy, active listening and collective participation.

Each performance is designed for children aged 3 to 8 and can be easily integrated into schools, even in small spaces. Educational workshops can complement the show to extend reflection and discussion on inclusion and diversity. The partnership with the John Cockerill Foundation has enabled the programming of school performances in Seraing, the organisation of a show for the children of John Cockerill staff, and the creation of synergies with the ‘Vélo-biblio’ and ‘L'univers de Raph’ initiatives, supported by the Foundation. Thanks to this partnership, we have created a veritable theatrical bubble where imagination and empathy help sow the seeds of a more inclusive world from an early age. More than 20 establishments have welcomed the actors for lively and colourful shows, promoting positive education, tolerance and the construction of an inclusive and resilient world.
