This is the momentum that the John Cockerill Foundation is supporting through the creation of a new HIS in La Louvière. The project includes four apartments as well as a shared space, designed to welcome between four and six residents in an inclusive and welcoming environment. To ensure tailored support, the Portray Foundation relies on local partners, including Edelweiss asbl, which will lead weekly workshops with the tenants and support them in their social lives.
The teams from John Cockerill Services Hainaut, based in Manage, are contributing their expertise to the project by carrying out site visits and providing health and safety recommendations. Their involvement helps ensure that future occupants will benefit from a living environment that is welcoming, safe, and adapted to their needs.
Beyond walls and infrastructure, this project is above all a human adventure. It enables vulnerable people to gain independence while remaining supported and connected to their community. For families, it also offers the prospect of a more peaceful future, thanks to a sustainable solution that meets the needs of their loved ones.
