The John Cockerill Foundation connects a maternity hospital to the water system

2020, Ivory Coast

At the end of 2019, John Cockerill Services' teams in Côte d'Ivoire (Africa) approached the John Cockerill Foundation. The purpose was to examine the financing of a technical quality water distribution project for a birthing center in the Commune of Adjahui in Abidjan.

The birthing center has benefited in the past from a first well drilling by the United Nations.

This borehole, 18 meters deep, had not been equipped with the technical systems necessary for automatic pumping and water filtration. This is why Mrs. Dalila BOURIEZ, a volunteer and wife of Colonel BOURIEZ of the French Army for whom John Cockerill Services in Côte d’Ivoire works, requested the help of the John Cockerill Group. Under the supervision of our colleague Arnaldo, the John Cockerill teams in the field carried out the necessary work of drilling, installing the technical pumping equipment and connecting the reservoir to the hospital.
